Resilient Entanglement asks what quantum computing is actually for, and answers with the electric grid. The Denver company, a women-owned R&D firm founded by Dr. Rozhin Eskandarpour, builds the Quantum Energy Management System (QEMS), software that applies quantum computing algorithms and AI to two of the hardest optimization problems utilities face: the power flow problem and security-constrained unit commitment, the scheduling puzzle of which generators to run, when, at what cost, without blacking anyone out.
The framing is climate resilience. As extreme weather events stress grids more often, the company argues, operators need faster and more accurate decision tools to minimize load interruptions and integrate renewable generation, and quantum optimization is a candidate for exactly that class of problem. Eskandarpour, an IEEE senior member who completed postdoctoral research at the University of Denver, has made the case on stages from IEEE Quantum Week to the IQT conference circuit.
Why it matters to the Valley: most of Colorado's quantum companies build hardware. Resilient Entanglement is a bet on the application layer, that the state's quantum economy can include the software that puts qubits to work on a problem every reader's utility bill depends on.
