Thirty miles of the Front Range, read as one wavefunction.
Boulder to Denver holds the densest quantum cluster in America. It was not planned by a state and it was not bought by a fund. It was built by physicists who stayed, and by companies turning seventy years of measurement into machines. This page is for them.

30
miles, Boulder to Denver. One cluster, one labor market, one line.
20
organizations: machines, cryo, lasers, control, sensors, and the labs that trained them all.
3+4
Nobel Prizes and four laureates, won at NIST Boulder and JILA in 25 years.
1954
the year the federal lab arrived. Everything on this page is downstream.
The five principles
01
One valley, not a scatter of startups. From NIST Boulder at mile zero to Maybell's dilution refrigerators in Denver, thirty miles hold one continuous system. Fourteen headline organizations. Four optics suppliers feeding them. Every building within one commute of every other.Atom Computing in Boulder. Infleqtion in Louisville. Quantinuum in Broomfield. Elevate Quantum in Westminster. Quantum Commons on 70 acres in Arvada. Mines in Golden. Maybell in Denver. The geography is the argument.
02
The spine is a wavefunction. Every town is an energy level. Boulder the source, Louisville first to market, Broomfield the flagship, Westminster the convener, Arvada the build-out, Golden the bench, Denver the cold end. Every company sits in superposition, a promise and a product at once, until the market measures it.
03
Measurement collapses hype into hardware. This valley ships definite states. Quantinuum carried a $1.68 billion IPO raise to market. Atom Computing closed a $100 million Series C. Maybell holds qubits near absolute zero on a Denver floor. Promises become products here, because the people building them were trained to measure.Physical or logical. Single or two-qubit. Announced or shipping. The people of this valley keep those distinctions instinctively. They trained where the standards are kept.
04
Red is a quantum jump. Progress here does not creep, it jumps. A groundbreaking in Arvada. A 22,000 square foot lab fit-out in Boulder. A first machine promised by late 2026. Red marks what moved this week, and what moved is always someone's work. The accent belongs to the team that made the jump.
05
One federal lab, 1954. Everything else is entanglement. Cornell and Wieman's cold atoms became Infleqtion. Wineland's trapped ions became Quantinuum's architecture. Hall's frequency comb became Vescent, Octave, and LongPath. The physics was here first. The people stayed. The companies came from them.
The physics was here first. The people stayed. The future is thirty miles long.

The full stack, within thirty miles
No other place holds every layer of a quantum computer inside one commute. The people who build each layer can drive to the people who build the next.
Layer 01
The machines
Neutral atoms at Atom Computing, Infleqtion, and Google Quantum AI Boulder. Trapped ions at Quantinuum and IonQ Boulder. Two of the leading modalities of quantum computer, built to ship, minutes apart.
Layer 02
The cold
Maybell Quantum builds the dilution refrigerators that hold qubits near absolute zero, and builds them in Denver. The coldest machines in the valley are a product, not a lab curiosity.
Layer 03
The light
Vescent, Octave Photonics, Meadowlark Optics, and Icarus Quantum turn Hall's frequency comb lineage into the lasers, combs, optics, and entangled photon sources the machine builders buy.
Layer 04
The control
Bifrost Electronics in Arvada builds the amplifiers that read a qubit without destroying it. The quietest electronics in the stack, made by one of the youngest companies in it.
Layer 05
The sensors
Mesa Quantum puts atomic timing on a chip. LongPath watches methane fields with a comb. The valley's physics leaves the lab and goes to work in the field.
Layer 06
The commons
NIST Boulder and JILA, CU Boulder, and Mines train the next generation. Quantum Commons in Arvada gives it 70 acres to build on. Elevate Quantum convenes the whole valley around it.
The next generation is already enrolled. Mines seats its first Quantum Systems Engineering undergraduates this fall. IonQ Boulder expects its first machine by late 2026. The first labs at Quantum Commons come online this year. This valley is not a monument to 1954. It is a bet on what ships next.
the millikelvin covers this valley from inside it, with care for the people building it. That is the only promise we make.
