What we know

Australia and Queensland invested $940M in PsiQuantum to build the world's first utility-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer in Brisbane by end of 2027. The Asia-Pacific HQ is in Brisbane with up to 400 direct jobs.

PsiQuantum uses photonic qubits manufactured at semiconductor fabs. PsiQuantum manufactures at GlobalFoundries, the same fab IBM is partnering with for Anderon. The bet: fault tolerance requires manufacturing scale, and existing chip fabs are the only path to it.

Editorial note

The Millikelvin covers the Colorado quantum ecosystem from the inside. Foreign organisations on this site carry stub profiles only, restricted to publicly reported facts. We expand a profile when the org is part of an active Colorado story, not as deep-dive coverage of foreign ecosystems on their own terms.
