Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade
Approved a $2.75M incentive package under 'Project Electron' to support IonQ's 22,000 sq ft Boulder R&D lab expansion.
The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) approved a $2.75M incentive package under 'Project Electron' to support IonQ's expansion into a 22,000 sq ft research and development facility at 1685 38th Street in Boulder. The lab opened on May 12, 2026 with Governor Jared Polis attending the ribbon cutting.
The incentive package is one example of state-level economic development effort directed specifically at quantum companies, alongside Colorado's broader role in the Elevate Quantum Tech Hub coalition. State and federal incentives have layered together to make Colorado one of the most actively subsidized quantum industrial clusters in the United States.
